Mason's letter -- Nov 9, 2009

Familia!!!

This week has been super good! It has been a pretty eventful week so I will try to say everything I want to in these short 30 minutes. If I don't then I'm sorry. Well we got our Flight Plans this week!! If we get our visas on time then we will be leaving next Monday (and I'm pretty sure we will have no problems with our visas). I will maybe go see if they have our visas tomorrow.

Well if everything goes according to the plan then we will be on the bus at 4 AM next Monday. Then our fliight leaves SLC at 7:10 am, then we go to Chicago and arrive at 11:15 am, leave Chicago at 2:10 pm, arrive in Miami at 6:15 pm, leave Miami at 7:30 pm, then arrive in San Pedro Sula at 8:45 pm. so I think all those times are the times at the different cities, so I don't know when exactly I will be arriving at those destinations in Mountain Time, but mom I wrote you a letter about it all so tell me what you want me to do with calling and whatever. I'm pretty stoked!

I'm the travel leader for our group and there are 4 from my district and 3 from another zone that are going to our mission. E. Anderson, Rawson, and Cotterell leave Sunday night at 8 pm and get to Teguci at like noon, so they leave a bit earlier than us. Hopefully everything will work out fine with that!

So as you know our district has had a few problems. I decided to fix it before we all left. So I interviewed everyone on Thursday and Friday. So basically for like 2 hours I just let everyone vent about everything and just get it all out. Anyway everyone just got these feelings out in the open and we were all really honest with each other. I felt like it was what needed to happen. Since, we have all just got along so great. The best we ever have. I really feel like everyone loves each other now.

So crazy story. I was just reading the Ensign yesterday before sacrament meeting and I was flipping through the pages, and all of a sudden I see Brock and Cal in the Ensign! What the heck?! Did you know they have their picture in it? It's on page 14 if you didnt already know that. So I like freaked out in class because it was honestly the last thing I was expecting to see. Nobody believed me at first until I showed them the pic. so crazy and awesome. I loved the pic, it was really cool. So now it is my favorite issue of the Ensign ever. Partly because it has all the conference talks that I loved so much during the MTC, and partly because I'm basically in it haha (cause I look like Brock). haha.

Well the RC was pretty good this week. I actually had a legit chat for about an hour with some guy. He seemed really interested in the church and Ifelt like I was making some progress with him. Then all the sudden he changed and freaked out on me saying stuff about how the Bible is all we need and all this (I could only tell he was freaking out because he was writing in all caps). Anyway I just bore my testimony and asked him to pray about it and stuff. So who knows what will happen to him. Some people just are very stubborn.

Also, I talked to a black lady on the phone who seemed interested. but I guess she was driving like on the freeway or something, and the whole time she was yelling at people who were almost hitting her and she was honking the whole time. haha I was just laughing, and told her we would call back later. haha crazy people.

Anyway that was my week. This next week we have tons of teaching appointments in the TRC, so that should be good. We have got really good at contacting people this week. I feel confident about that. I'm glad I'm almost leaving cause it's starting to get really cold and I have no warm clothes!! So get me outta here already, I.m freezin!

Dad can you send me a card for my MP3 thing with all the Spanish hymns and stuff? I don't think I ever got any of that and I want it before I get to Hondo.

Peace fam, I love you all. You're great. Write me a lot before I leave!

Mason
