Hola familia,
Hey well this week went really super fast. but it was a pretty great week. we recieved alot of blessings this week and we are feeling alot more excitment right now in the work in this area. so on Tuesday I had to go on divisions with the zone leader. He was feeling a little bit sick so we went to the office to get some pills. Apparently he has to take special pills when he gets headaches and stuff because he always has crazy allergic reactions to normal pills like Tylenol. so we went there and got his pills and went home to take them. he took the pills and a couple minutes later his lips started to swell up. haha well his lips swelled up super super huge, like twice the size of Angelina Jolie's lips. It was gross looking, but really funny. anyways he swelled up pretty good and felt pretty crappy so we couldnt leave and work. so I spent all day tuesday just studying and cleaning and thinking. haha it was a boring day to say the least. but I did eat the first McDonald's meal I've eaten for 8 months!! So that was cool. There is one really close to the ZL's house here, it was so good. I forget sometimes how good American food is... sometimes my mind tricks me that beans and tortillas for every meal is what real flavor is...but oh what a lie.
On Thursday we had our multi zone conference with the president. His very last one ever. The new pres comes in the month at the end, so it should be interesting to see what changes take place. Maybe the food at the multizones will change from chicken rice and beans to burgers or steak. I sure hope so. but the meeting was really good and really spiritual, I will miss pres cruz a lot.
On Friday we were going to set up a sweet activity by watching a movie in a park. we have a projector screen here in the house so we were going to put up a few movies of Joseph Smith and Jesus in a park here. It would have been really cool but it has rained almost all week here, so we got rained out.
Saturday we went to a different stake here in San Pedro and participated in an activity with the primary. They did a missionary preparation thing with the primary there and invited us missionaries to come help. They learned all about how to be a missionary and sang songs to us and stuff and all had on little mini name tags and stuff. It was cool. Then at the end we each took a group of about 10 little kids to a different part of the city to contact some houses. haha it was really funny to watch the little 7 or 8 year olds do a missionary contact. But we had one kid that was really cool. He just walked right up to a huge black guy and handed him a pamphlet of the word of wisdom and said ¨I want you to read this and come to church and get baptized¨. The black guy just looked down at him and then at us and I thought he was gonna yell or something. But he just smiled and said how awesome it was that we were helping these little kids learn and grow. He said the world needed more people like this little kid, and the kid shook his hand and just walked off to go do another one haha. It was really cool and shows all of us that we can all participate in the missionary work. Every boy and girl or man or woman in the church has a great responsibility to spread the gospel and invite others to come unto Christ. That kid taught me a lot about courage in inviting others to come unto Christ. I used that lesson I had learned and we put a baptism date this week with a single mom of about 25 years. She's really cool and a sister of a member. So we are seeing a lot more success here in the area and the fruits or our labors are beginning to grow.
We are teaching a really cool guy and his wife. He is the guy that doesn't like the tithing, but the first talk last week was on tithing. Anyways we taught him more this week. He told us that on Sunday when the first guy got up to talk about tithing his heart dropped. He said he had been really optimistic about the church, that maybe this one was the one he was looking for, until the talk. Anyways he looked at me and saw that I had also put my head down in disappointment. haha but he felt a desire to listen to the talk and said that he was going to defeat Satan and wasn't going to let him scare him away from the church. anyways he ended up really liking the talk and felt the spirit. he liked that we invite others to pay tithing and not force or command like the other churches do. So apparently that was a little trial for him. But he is still awesome and we shoudl be able to baptise him this month.
But thats about all I got for the week. I really liked the pictures of Kylie's graduation and stuff. Those were cool. If you have anymore, send em to me! my trainer came up to me in the conference and commented on how good the pictures were of my sisters graduation. haha he had apparently gotten onto facebook and seen them. and I don't want to be disobedient and go to facebook, so thanks for sending me pics. hah
