Hey familia,
Hope everything is going good for you all. This week was pretty normal for us here, it has just been really really hot. But that is also normal haha. So we found out about the changes this morning. I had a feeling like I was going to leave the area, because I've been here for a while. But I was wrong, and I'm staying here with Elder Guzman for another change. So I will complete 6 months here in Castanos haha. So my first 2 areas and 6 months each... that's pretty unheard of here in the mission. The other guys from my district already have like 3 or 4 or 5 areas already. I guess the Lord has a lot more work for me to do here. I also kinda wanted to stay here, we have finally found some really really awesome people that seem to love and embrace the gospel and I wanted to be here to be able to see it all through with them. So that is a blessing.
I feel like we have just turned things around 180 degrees here this last change. We now are always receiving references from the members, and our relationship with the bishop has gotten a lot better. He is starting to trust us a lot. He invited us over for dinner tonight and he has a reference for us that we are going to teach tonight, I hope everything goes good with that. Also Elder Guzman was really nervous about another elder coming here, so it was good for him too. I really hope we can keep us this energy that we have and stuff.
One of the families that we are teaching is really excited about the gospel, but they have to get divorced and married before they can get baptized. So yeah that is a really hard process here in Honduras. It will take a lot of hard work, but I think I was kept here to be able to get all that worked out. I was worried that a lazy elder was going to come here and not care and not do all the work for it. So I am happy that I am staying here. But there will be changes in my district, and I will now have the APs and the nurses as part of my district... I don't know how that will all work. but whatever.
Oh so we have started to teach English classes as well. So we will be able to keep doing that. We have actually had some success with it. The first time we did it like 20 people showed up, members and non members. It's really funny to hear how bad their accents are, and its frustrating to try and teach them how to make a ¨th¨sound. Boy they are bad at that haha. now I know what I probably looked like when I was learning. But it seems to be a success and the members really like it too. It's good to incorporate members and investigators together into an environment that is new to the both of them. So I'm excited to keep teaching the English classes, and I have realized that I forgot how to spell and say a lot of English words haha.
So that's basically it for the week. It was pretty normal. Just a lot of work and stuff. I'm excited for the new change. I still haven't gotten Blair's package... but I hope tomorrow I will. Talk to you all next week, love you all.
