Well to answer your questions.... first off no, I do not have an oven and I didn't even have an oven in my last house (there isn't a house here in the mission that has one... Honduras is poor). haha and no my house isn't as nice as my last one, it's kinda old and small and basically is like a little tool shed converted into a small room. So we live behind a pretty nice house. The good thing is that it actually has somewhat of a backyard (the first time I've seen a grassy yard for a year) and a patio area by ¨the tool shed¨ with a few hammocks and stuff. So I actually like it a lot--it's really ghetto--but I like it. To give you an idea of the ghetto-ness, our bathroom is just in the corner of the room and separated from the rest of it by a wood board that doesn't even go up to the ceiling, and the door for the bathroom is a sheet that they nailed to the wall. haha
And yes my comp is also a ZL. We are the two ZLs for this zone, and he is supposed to be training me on how to be one. But since he is dying soon so it is a little bit of a struggle to get him going when all he wants to do is watch TV and hang out with the members. So it's a little bit of a struggle, but we are working on it.
This week was a good week though. Tuesday and Wednesday we were in San Pedro all day at some leadership meetings which were kind of boring. Tomorrow we have another meeting with all the ZLs in the mission to talk about how we can improve the mission. So that should be good. Then the rest of the week we just worked like normal. I'm excited because we set a lot of baptismal dates and this weekend we will have 7 baptisms. That's the most I've ever had on a single weekend so I'm excited. 3 of them will be in the branch that we cover and the other 4 in the main ward (a family of 3 and a sister of a member). It will be awesome!
Oh, and no the whole city is not my area, but most of it is. The main part of Choloma is all ours and we live really close to the central park. there are a few other missionaries here close but more on the outskirts of the city. I'm still getting to know all the area and zone though so i dont know if that made sense. i really like the city though. the ward is called Choloma haha and is a pretty strong ward with like 160 people at church every sunday (which is alot here). and the members are really cool and willing to help us. Our ward mission leader is really cool too and loves to help us (which is rare).
Today we played soccer on a little artificial field here by our house with the zone and now we are going to play basketball in the stake center with some elders, basically the gringo elders. haha it's always a fight between the latins and the gringos if we play basketball or soccer. So we have to please the two groups haha. That's what ZL is all about, just babysitting haha.
I'm looking forward to the Christmas package. Don't worry about sending anything that I can bake or microwave because I wouldn't be able to make it haha. Thanks for the pics of Halloween. Here was just a normal day. Everyone knows that it's Halloween here but they don't really celebrate it at all. So I missed that a little bit. So thanks for everything. I hope I answered all your questions.
Love Elder Mason Cardon
