Hey family
It was great to talk to everyone last night. yeah I don't think the cell phone was the problem...just the connection was bad. My comp could hear his family just fine in Teguc. So I think it was just because it was from so far away. But it was still great to hear everyone. Sorry if I now sound like a mexican too by the way. I had no idea, I thought I was just normal. It was cool to hear Callin talk a little bit too. It always seems like the time just flies by when we are on the phone. So yeah I don't really have much to say this week.
So yeah I'm in the downtown of San Pedro. My area is really nice and so is my house. They have been struggling to baptize for awhile here in this area, but we can change that. I knew the problem why there weren't baptisms here my first day. The use of time is really bad and not very efficient at all and the diligence of work was really low too. So I know that if we just work really hard and use our time wisely with the people that they are going to progress and we will have success. We have already found a 50 year old guy who is really interested and wants to study the Book of Mormon and stuff. So we can already see blessings. This week we will go by some old investigators from a while ago to see if they want to change, and we will go by some members to get some references. My companion really wants to baptize this change which is a good sign. We just got to work on his obedience a little. And he is sometimes scared to talk to people. He will sometimes just stand on the other side of the street while I contact a house. So I'm trying to help him a lot with that. It seems like his trainer didn't teach him a whole lot of contacting skills or anything.
But being in the city does have its advantages. I will get letters and packages a lot faster. I should get some packages tomorrow morning. Also I can buy anything American now. I shouldn't have problems finding things to buy around here. When I was in La Ceiba all the people told me that San Pedro was super hot, but so far I think La Ceiba was hotter. I don't sweat as much here, and I seem to be just fine. I dunno.
Well that's all I have to say this week. Mom, happy Mother's Day yesterday and I love you. I was thinking in church yesterday how lucky I am to have you as a mother and how I'm lucky that you taught me the gospel and how to trust in the Lord. I feel so blessed to have a family like you all. I will talk to you next week.
love Elder Mason Cardon
