Mason's letter -- May 3, 2010

All,

Well, we just got back from eating at Pizza Hut with a lot of elders from the zone. We went and played bball early in the morning and we found out the changes. Turns out I have a change finally. It was no surprise though. So I leave Wednesday morning at like 3 for San Pedro. I won't know where I'm going until Wednesday in the changes meeting. It will be cool to go there and see everyone. I'm pretty excited and a little bit nervous, Just because I hope I get a good companion and stuff. But I'm sure it will be fine. I need a change, I feel like I know just about everyone here. Me and E. Brown have had so many experiences here its crazy.

I love this area so much though, and the people here that I have had a chance to know are so cool. I love my converts a ton. We were sitting in church yesterday and we saw all of the fruits of our labors here. We saw our converts and the less actives that we reactivated and all the cool people we have helped. It really filled us both with a lot of joy. One less active family we reactivated was all there, and we found out that 2 of the kids are almost done with their mission papers. Then Pedro and Ingris walked in. Ingris had had a job opportunity yesterday. They still are unemployed, but she had this job opportunity and they asked us what they should do on Saturday. We told them that this was a test for them and that they needed to go to church, but pray about the decision. So we left Saturday night. then they showed up on Sunday morning all smiling and ready. they told us that they had prayed about their decision and felt like they needed to go to church instead of taking this job because they didn't want to break the sabbath day. They said they were filled with so much indescribable joy after they prayed. and on Sunday they still felt this incredible joy. They lost a job and money that they desperately need to survive, but they gained a really strong testimony of keeping the commandments. The spirit touched them really strongly. they will be blessed greatly. How many of us would have had the faith to do the same?

I just helped a kid with his United States history homework that is sitting next to me. He is reading about the Mormon trail haha. It's sad in this country they don't study the history of their own country, just the history of the states. Many can name all 50 states, while the same many struggle to name the 10 departments of Honduras.

Well I hope everything is going great, I'm excited to talk to everyone on Mother's Day and I'm excited to see where I will be. I love you all.
